What to expect in a NAATI CCL Test
You all must be wondering about what happens in NAATI CCL or what to expect in NAATI CCL Test. Yes, we’ve been given tests all our lives and we might think it’s ingrained in our brains. But with the NAATI CCL tests, we have to be extra careful as we have to abide by a few more sets of constraints. It does not mean you have to be worried either, cause we’re here to give you a head’s up. We’re giving you an insight into what goes on inside the NAATI CCL test venue.
Here are a few things you have to know before going in for the test:
1. Time allocation
Even though the exact time for your test is unknown, you always have to be present in the test location before the stated time frame starts. The NAATI tests on a day could run for almost eight hours. Some candidates may have to wait for long hours for their turn. And this in no way means that you leave the exam premises, cause once you do, you cannot come back to attempt the test. So, you really have to allocate a day of your life for this purpose and just practice some patience.
2. Use of electronic devices
Once you’ve entered the test venue, you’re not allowed to make any calls or messages via the electronic devices and you have to switch them off. Because, like any other exams, there is a strict policy about maintaining confidentiality.
3. While waiting for your turn
You’ll have to sit in a separate room while waiting for your turn. What you could do at that time is take some of the notes you’ve written on paper and go through them. Just make sure you don’t take those notes with you to the exam hall, in a hurry.
4. Test Format
You might have already researched the test formats, and practiced along. But you can still benefit from a gentle reminder. The test takes about 30 minutes to complete, during which two sets of dialogues are played, each of which is worth 45 marks. The dialogues are divided into many segments. At the end of each segment, a chime sound plays and the test office will stop the recording for you. And bear in mind that you’ll have to answer within 5 seconds after the sound. Your answer will be recorded for marking purposes.
5. Taking notes
As mentioned earlier, you cannot rely on any electronic devices. And for taking notes during the test, you’ll be given paper and a pen. But you have to keep in mind that you have to return them before heading out. Hope you were not thinking of exchanging notes with your friends.
6. Pack your essentials
This is an important test and you’re even willing to spend your whole day for it. You’ll have to do one more thing and that is pack all the essentials, be it your medications, water, snacks, or beverages. This could make a huge difference, cause there’s no guarantee on how much time you’ll have to wait. And going on a test with a hungry stomach or dehydrated body doesn’t seem like a good idea, to be honest. And you don’t have to worry about the seating arrangements, cause you’ll be assigned a separate room with toilet facilities.
7. Upon completion
After you’ve completed your test, you must immediately leave the exam center, and you have to keep in mind that you cannot enter again. Make sure you’ve handed the notes to the examiner before leaving. From this point onwards, all you can do is trust the authorities and expect to get the result via email, within 8 to 10 weeks.
